ABOUT PETAL & PEAK MENTAL HEALTH

Petal & Peak Mental Health is a therapy practice based in Southwest Denver, offering thoughtful, relational care to adolescents, adults, and older adults across Colorado.

Founded in 2012 as a solo practice, Petal & Peak has grown over time into a small, intentional group practice rooted in depth, care, and respect for complexity. While our team has evolved, our commitment has remained the same: to offer therapy that is grounded, ethical, and responsive to the real lives people are living.

We believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, honest, and attuned to both individual experience and broader context. Our work centers the full person, not just symptoms, diagnoses, or quick fixes.

OUR VALUES

Inclusivity and Diversity
We welcome people of all identities, backgrounds, and abilities. Our practice is committed to creating a space where clients feel seen, respected, and affirmed without having to explain or defend who they are.

Equity and Social Justice
As social workers, we understand that mental health does not exist outside of social, cultural, and systemic realities. We remain attentive to how oppression, marginalization, and inequity affect emotional well being and access to care.

Compassion and Advocacy
Our work is grounded in empathy, care, and thoughtful action. We aim to offer therapy that is both supportive and honest and to advocate for practices that reduce harm and promote dignity.

These values are not aspirational add ons. They are foundational to how we practice.

statement OF INCLUSIVITY

We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive space that celebrates diversity and upholds the values of equality and social justice.

Our mission is grounded in the belief that Black Lives Matter, no human is illegal, and Indigenous rights and freedoms must be upheld. We honor and support religious freedom and welcome those of all faith backgrounds to our practice.

We proudly support the LGBTQ+ community, some of us as fellow members, others as allies, and affirm that love is love.

We recognize gender as a social construct and honor each individual's unique identity and self expression.

We celebrate the beauty of diverse abilities and highlight the strength of neurodiversity, with our entire team composed of neurodivergent individuals.

As social workers, we acknowledge the deep and lasting impact of poverty, hatred, and white supremacy and we work to address these injustices.

We stand firmly in support of reproductive rights and the inherent dignity of every individual.

Our values are more than statements. They are the foundation of our work, driving our commitment to equity, compassion, and meaningful change. In this space, everyone is welcomed, valued, and respected just as they are.

As proud members of the Safe Space Alliance, we are committed to fostering a welcoming environment where all clients particularly LGBTQ+, transgender, and gender diverse individuals, people and communities of color, disabled individuals, and those facing systemic barriers can feel safe and supported.

HOW WE THINK ABOUT THERAPY

At Petal & Peak, therapy is not about fixing people or pushing them toward predetermined outcomes. It is about understanding what someone is carrying, how they have learned to cope, and what they need now.

We value collaborative relationships rather than expert driven dynamics, curiosity over judgment, context over labels, and care that is responsive rather than rigid.

Our clinicians are trained in evidence based and relational approaches, but therapy here is centered on conversation, reflection, and real world application not technique for its own sake.
